In the first 3 to 6 days after a treatment, e.g braces, it is possible to feel discomfort like sensible teeth (comparable to sore muscles) or chafe marks and pressure sore in your mouth. However, those will remission usually after a few days. The intensity of the discomfort variies and depends on the perception of pain of the patient.

Thanks to the application of special materials, modern orthodontics was able to make enormous steps forward regarding pain relief. Thus, about 50 percent of all patient will not experience any pain or discomfort.
